Vehicle: The most commonly used vehicle in the food truck industry is the Step Van. Other vehicles like Box Trucks, Sprinter Vans and Containers are also used. Step Vans prices vary from $7,500 on a 1990 model up to $95,000 on a 2016 model. Most Step Vans used on the custom food truck manufacturing industry range between $15,000 and $25,000 and are usually between 2003 and 2008 models.

Appliances vary by food truck depending on the menu. Most food trucks require between $8,000 and $12,000 in appliances. This includes cooking and refrigeration equipment.
The power source varies depending on the food truck needs. The wattage depends on the appliances on the food truck. Once all appliances (including a/c units, blenders, refrigeration, etc.) are selected the generator is chosen to provide sufficient amperage to the food truck.
Generators are installed in a hidden, custom made, sound proof generator housing; with an automatic transfer switch for land-base/shore power and a remote panel to start generator from the inside of the truck.
